Where in the world is Nick Moraitis ?

Concerns are increasing for TIG staff member, Nick Moraitis who is rumored to be incommunicado.

Recent sightings indicate that he has returned to his hometown of Melbourne, Australia following the WSIS conference to spend time with his family over the Christmas period

Questions are also being raised in regards to his survival given that he is believed to be without his laptop and mobile telephone.

TIGgers across the world are urged to keep their eyes out for and to post any details of his whereabouts via the TIG website.

Should you see Nick, act with caution, as he is thought to be in a dangerous state whilst disconnected.

The team behind the search will bring you more news as it comes to hand.

On the Run
I hear that Nick's on the run from the law, as Interpol have finally discovered that he's the ring leader behind the phenomenon of using Starbucks for free WiFi access.

Wasn't it Mike that pioneered that? Well, in any case, Nick is an accomplace :P

International Day of Disconnection
If he does survive, he'll be doing better than me. I can't remember the last time I went a day without being wired. (by wired, I am refering to the technological apsect, not the drug related) Maybe there's a new challenge to add to the list for 2004 !

Stepping away from the humerous side of all of this and being serious for a moment, Luke, you raised an interesting point in your updates (I hope I linked that right :p) about finding the balance between being wired and having self time. Perhaps we all need some time away from our computers/telephones/televisions and whatever other tech. devices control our daily lives to get out and experience the world.

Just a random though, but perhaps this is something too that TIG could look at doing next year; an International Day of Disconnection ????
